How it works

From files to a private preview

  1. 1
Drop your folder or ZIP onto Upfling to create a site.
  2. 2
Open the site's settings and set a password.
  3. 3
Send the link and password to your client. Done.
Good to know
What the password gate is and is not
The password is a gate, not encryption. Anyone with the link and the password can see the site. There is no per-client login, no approval workflow, and no commenting. Password protection requires a paid plan (Lite at $3.99/mo and above). Free-tier users can upload and share a site, but cannot set a password. See pricing for all plans. For hosting without a password, see Websites, PDFs, and Images. For freelancer and agency delivery, see For freelancers.
What lands well
index.html with inline CSS
A folder of HTML pages
Images, fonts, PDFs
A Next.js project, unbuilt
Why Upfling for this

Everything you need, nothing you don't.

Password gate
Site-wide password gate. One password protects every page and asset.
Same URL
Re-upload keeps the URL. Update the site, send the same link.
No branding
No Upfling branding on paid tiers. The client sees your work, not ours.
Custom domain
Custom domain when the site goes live (Lite and above).
More formats
Works for PDFs and image portfolios too.
Questions

Common questions about client previews

No. The gate returns HTTP 401 with X-Robots-Tag: noindex. Search engines receive no content and are told not to index the URL.
